The world has changed since many of us here discovered our taste for women wearing leather coats. Originally pictures came almost entirely from catalogs, newspaper ads, and magazines. As catalogs and newspapers became outdated forms of advertisement we turned to the internet. Advertisement for women's fashion deteriorated into something far less lively in my opinion, often with dull, lanky models serving as human clothes hangers for the outfit they were supposed to be promoting. Candid shots of ladies in their leather coats often provided the best and most lively visuals, but then became extremely scarce as leather mostly went out of fashion. Since 2018 leather trench coats have been ever so slowly creeping back into young women's wardrobes. Many of them are second hand coats because the few *genuine* leather coats on the market are extremely cost prohibitive. Thus, what I have discovered is that some of the best images of the modern lady in the leather coat are social media postings of stylish young women flaunting how they look in their sleek, newly-discovered outerwear. If long leather coats are truly making a comeback in society; this is the face of it.
The most jolting realization is that the leather coats my wife has been wearing since 2004 are now considered vintage! However, if they are in vogue again, I suppose that makes them classic.
