  1. For the price, I'd prefer a coat that fits.

  2. We bought the longer Magda Butrym leather coat, called the "long leather tailored coat." It is the one with ankle length and a formal double breasted look that can be worn to formal events.
The Magda Butrym website put this coat on the main page before, with the lady whose hair is fluttering and looking confident and strong. But I opted this one out, because I am just not into the 80's-influenced leather coats with wide shoulders and crazy shoulder pads. I love the 80's culture, but wide, oversized coats are a no-no to us. My wife loves leather coats, but she HATES looking like Cyndi Lauper for sure!

  3. When I bought the long Magda Butrym tailored leather coat for my goddess last week, I had to pick sz. 36/XS for a tighter fit. Since size small may be too loose for my muse.
When it comes to military-styled leather trench coats, it is always a hit-or-miss. Some designers nowadays prefer paying tribute to the early 80's.
Don't get me wrong! Just like you, I love vintage leather pieces, but the oversized ones from early to mid 80's are definitely hideous and atrocious to us. I love the 90's body-hugging, "power dressing" style. A woman exudes more power when she's in tight, gleaming, creaking expensive leather clothes.
Burberry, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen are the ones that prefer making body-hugging trench coats nowadays.
I find it a sin to make pretty ladies wear loose-fitting leather. Tight leather is the only way in our lexicon of fashion.

  4. Part of the appeal of a belted leather coat to me is the form it gives a woman. It perfectly accentuates her curves and feminity. Whilst it is good to see more coats available and in fashion, it does disappoint when they are oversized. It takes away the powerful confident look and replaced it with a grumpy, yet not even comfortable, look. It ends up conjuring the image of girl trying on her mum's stuff for the first time.

  5. Black leather coats give a mystifying look to the wearer. Gets me even a bit aroused as I look at it, but a lot of coat and silky clothes pictures do. Surely, this one is interesting - a double-breasted kinda heavy coat with a tie-belt. Designers seem to try anything with the material. Do you want it cheaper? I guess it's a matter of taste and confidence in the wearer.

  6. These lovely ladies always look better in tight black leather. It is only a matter of time before we see such beautiful sights again like we did in the late 90s and 2000s.
