It has been over ten years since I wrote this story and I had not looked at it in a long time. I started rereading it again last week and decided to re-post it in segments after doing some editing. I would like to think that my singular writing style has improved a little in the past decade and I will try to make this story less clunky and better flowing.
One thing that struck me on going through Perfect from a fresh perspective was the rather harsh nature of it. Blair really is an ice-cold snob. I tried to provide a little more background to her character in the revision I posted, but Blair is a woman that one can only love to hate. On reflection, I think Blair represented much of my frustration trying to meet women as a young man combined with the lady in the leather coat that I fantasized about. I had only been dating the beautiful woman who became my wife for less than a year when I started writing Perfect. She has since dispelled many of my former misconceptions about unattainable women and I have grown a little wiser about life as well. Ha!
