The modern era.
My whole young life until the past five years a beautiful woman in a long leather coat was photographed on the streets of Manhattan or Paris, modeling the height of sleek designer couture. Now leather coats have been abandoned to thrift shops and enterprising young twenty-somethings sell them second hand online and in retro boutiques, often mislabeled as "80s vintage leather coat", or worse yet; a PVC/vinyl costume piece advertised as "Gothic Cyber Matrix coat". Such associations are the kiss of death for guys like me trying to get our elegant, professional wives to ever wear that black leather maxi coat hanging in their closet again.
At least the cell-phone-wielding young lady here captures the appropriate vamped-up look that a long leather coat knocks out of the park on a beautiful woman.
